Dr. Karis Jones studies learning, literacies & power across spaces. She examines issues of power and transformation at the intersection of students' fandom and disciplinary literacies and implications for more equitable learning practices in English classrooms. Working in collaboration with youth, educators, and community partners, she designs equitable and culturally relevant literacies instruction and assessment in urban secondary contexts.
